SOME HISTORY

Classic Cabinetry officially opened doors for business in 1986 and was owned and operated by Carl Mundth and Walter Luepke. Walter's experience was in the manufactured home industry. Carls' interest in quality craftsmanship developed in his teen years, when he began purchasing woodworking equipment. His first wood shop was in a machine shed on the family farm. These individuals had many years of building and construction background. All these experiences evolved into a deep passion for creating quality interior wood products for residential and commercial customers.

In Classic Cabinetry's early years, all products and components were custom made by the owners in the old Dolly Madison Dairies building located in Reedsburg , Wisconsin . At this time, Classic Cabinetry's market area was primarily Reedsburg and surrounding areas in Sauk County .

In 1990, Mundth and Luepke started manufacturing high end cabinetry components for several projects in the Chicago area. This proved to be a very intriguing change of pace for the young and small company. Many of the traditional concepts the company started its business with had to be modified to meet the requirements of this futuristic market.

In 1991, one of the customer kitchens completed by Classic Cabinetry was awarded a grand prize award in a national contest sponsored by Family Circle Publications Decorating and Remodeling magazine. Having their products featured in a national publication and awarded grand prize proved to many that this young and small company could provide products and services for all types of demanding projects.

After a few years, demand for the products and services Classic Cabinetry provided far exceeded their production capacity. Acknowledging this demand, the owners saw the need to expand the products offered to their customers. Therefore, manufactured cabinetry and components were added to allow more customers an opportunity to share in the creative skills and ideas of Classic Cabinetry.

By 1996, Classic Cabinetry had outgrown the original location and began planning relocation. In 1997, a new building was built and Classic moved the business to its present location on the east side of Reedsburg in 1998. After relocating, the business grew steadily and additional people were added to keep up with demand. In 2004, Walter sold his interest in the company to employee, Don Fish. Today the company is owned by Carl Mundth and Don Fish, and Walter remains on staff as a Designer.

Today, Classic Cabinetry remains a small company, focused on professional individual attention, quality products and most importantly, top notch customer service. Classic Cabinetry's core market serves customers withina 90 mile radius of Reedsburg. While routinely servicing customers in this area, Classic Cabinetry has also completed elegant projects in Janesville, Platteville, Green Bay, Wausau and Minocqua just to list a few.
